Luxury Merino wool bases made for softness, strength, and everyday wear.
Painted Skein Merino bases are made with extra fine 19.5 micron Merino wool — luxuriously soft against the skin, yet strong enough for garments, accessories, and heirloom-worthy projects.
Merino is breathable, moisture-wicking, naturally temperature-regulating, and naturally antimicrobial. The Merino is mulesing-free and has not been sourced from farms that use mulesing practices.

Yarn Care
Caring for your hand-dyed yarn.
To keep Painted Skein hand-dyed yarn looking its best, wash gently and dry with care.
Washing
Hand wash gently in cool or lukewarm water, max 30°C / 86°F. Use a gentle wool wash or mild soap. Do not agitate, wring, or rub. Rinse thoroughly in water of the same temperature to avoid felting.
Drying
Gently press out excess water. Lay flat to dry away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not tumble dry or hang, because hanging can stretch the fiber.
Additional Tips
Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Slight color bleeding on the first wash can be normal for hand-dyed yarn.
